Somewhere recently I read the story of a Christian Science nurse who was taught in her training to never judge another person's condition by what she saw, but by what she knew.
Now, that's useful counsel for all of us!

About Me
- Evan Mehlenbacher
- I am a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science. From an early age I wanted to help others find spiritual healing for the problems they faced. After graduating from Stanford University and working with my dad in the family farming business for five years, I decided my heart was elsewhere. I left the business and went into the full time practice of Christian Science Mind-healing. For over 22 years I have been healing people of pain, suffering and disease through my prayers. I have written dozens of articles on spiritual healing that have been published in magazines and on the Internet. I teach a two week class annually on how to heal through Christian Science, and have a wonderful wife and two teenage children. I hope you stick around and enjoy this blog.

When folks were first learning, accepting, that the earth really was ROUND, they probably remained a bit...unsure about whether they should sail their boats "Out There,' where they couldn't see what was "Over the Edge." So they had to train themselves, remind themselves that these new Facts were reliable, made perfect sense, and could bring them peace, assurance, and fearlessness in their sailing!
As we sail into the Land of Christian Science, into a full understanding of Truth, we must learn to trustingly yield to the divine Facts: Matter/Mortal mind: powerless. Divine Mind: All, the only power.
To know how to look beyond the physical picture, to look to and accept the Facts, and "judge" accordingly...this is indeed a privilege, and can show us our dominion over the belief in power(s) apart from God.
Is it scary to stop honoring the sense picture?
For me it is, sometimes. But are we not all being compelled to understand our dominion therein? Our loving Father-Mother-God wants us to GET OUT of the limitations of sense...into the freedom of Soul!
He wants us to be His Valentines! In fact, we already ARE!
