Life is not a dream

From a young age I’ve heard preachers and motivational speakers promise, “If you can dream it you can have it!”

How many people have pursued their dream and achieved their goal, but still felt like they didn’t “have it?” They wanted more?

I think of a man who believed he would be happy when he earned a large sum of money. He earned the income, but discovered he wanted more. He was not happy with what he had.

I think of a woman who found her “dream” husband. She got married. The hope of happiness-ever-after didn’t come true. She found a successful marriage takes work.

What’s the lesson?

If you’re going to dream, put your faith in something that will come true. Put your faith in spiritual reality, not in vain human scenarios that fail to deliver.

God is the source of all the good you could ever hope to have.

You don’t have to wait for a promotion, a spouse, a house, a divorce, a pill, or some temporal situation to materialize before you can experience happiness, health and joy to the fullest. It’s all here and now, in Mind.

Life is not a dream to be lived in the future. Its spiritual reality experienced in the present. Go for it!

Where to find God?

“Where do I find God?” A woman asked me.

“If you want to experience the warmth and surroundings of Hawaii, you have to travel to Hawaii.” I said. “You won’t find the sunny beaches and waving palm trees of Waikiki in the icy glaciers of Alaska. The two regions are entirely different environments.”

I went on to explain. “God is Spirit. God is not matter. To find God you have to mentally travel into the realm of Spirit. And to travel into the realm of Spirit, you have to leave a material sense of existence behind. You won’t find the peace and health of Spirit in a mortal body, in temporal things or circumstances. You find God in Spirit, and you access the presence of Spirit through spiritual sense.”

Intelligent design

"What's intelligent design?" my 15 year old daughter asked.

"It teaches that God created the universe and made man, as taught in the book of Genesis." I replied.

"Well...that sounds okay," she pondered. "But don't many people think God created man out of the
dust of the ground and then with a sinful mind that gets into lots of trouble?" She queried.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"Well, that doesn't sound like a very intelligent design." She added. "And it doesn't sound much different then Darwin's theory which claims man evolved from the "mindless dust of the ground."

She had a point!

Christian Science explains that
God created man in the divine image and likeness. God is a Spirit. God's image is spiritual. God's man did not evolve from dust, or from dense matter in the ancient cosmos. The eternal man exists in Spirit at-one with God now, and forever expresses the divine intelligence.

Now that's an intelligent design!
