Gratitude

Enjoyed a nice article titled, “Gratitude: A life difference,” by Benjamin Devey. He wrote in part:

“Gratitude unburdens our spirit from negative emotions and gives room for charity in our hearts. It opens the windows of heaven to work miracles in our lives. It shines light in our caring for others.”
In the spirit of generous giving and gracious receiving that should be a hallmark of this holiday season, we can never overdo gratitude.

We each have much to be grateful for, probably more than we’ve noticed recently.

Big time! Found out 6-1/2 weeks ago I'd have to move unexpectedly. No money coming in to boot, because income from my odd part time jobs ended.

Relying solely on the Father's guidance, I learned again why Christian Science supports my confidence that "God is a very present help in trouble." Also why I need to be grateful for what I've already received before the current situation's details are evident.

This is the first time I've been in such a tight situation and not been fearful. What a milestone! Trustful it would all work out with God's inspiring guidance, as it has so many times before.

Working with a loving Christian Science practitioner who has kept my thought on God's spiritual reality, I've found 2 small part time jobs, sold something in a commission only situation, found an apartment in a good neighborhood with a great landlord, utilities included, and I don't have to pay rent until Jan. 1st. Today and Saturday, 11 friends will help me move, to save costs. And with the joy we'll be expressing, the work will go quickly.

God is good. Abundantly good! And this is true for each and every one of Her children. Love's provision includes all mankind because good, spiritual ideas are based on universal law that can "feed the hungry [and] heal the heart" in Boston, Bangladesh, Darfur, or Bangalor. (Quote is from a hymn called "Feed My Sheep" by Mary Baker Eddy.)

Truly this is God's eternal Truth "made flesh" that's in evidence all year long -- and so much a part of the worldwide celebration of the Christmas/Hannukah season.

GRATITUDE is having the opportunity to attend two weeks class instruction this year under the instruction of Evan. After having studied the Christian Science for sometime prior to becoming a member of the church in my community, I have found the joy and love that has been missing and I am now able to help others.

Now, that is Gratitude.
