This quote arrested my attention and got me to wondering about abusive states of mortal mind I need to be more diligent in defending myself from...
"If you are constantly being mistreated, you're cooperating with the treatment."

For sure. And when we "rag" on ourselves, as to how we don't always measure up to "the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." (-Bible), to the perfect man, to the image of God Himself! are not we wasting our time and joy?
Why beat up the poor human sense of things? It so often can't help it, conditioned as it is from birth to believe ever so many strange and false and awful things! Let's not condemn the human, but uplift it! Always remembering, there are not two earths, one flat and one round!! The flat one is just a false sense of what the round one is all about! Even so, the human sense of ourselves and others is not the real, so we need to EXPAND our view of things...look deeper, higher! Thank Goodness we now have the Truth to apply to our "problem!"
Thanks so much, Evan, and thanks to Anonymous above. I found your comments very helpful. To plunge "beneath the material surface of things" as Jesus did, has to be the way forward to expand and progress..I am striving to remember that!
How interesting! I recently read in the Bible where Jesus basically says he knows how untrustworthy man's opinions are -- these could be opinions about ourselves, or reactions to others' behavior.
So, if this is how the little "man" operates, there is no need to get all worked up. Giving credence to put downs of any sort are old ways that don't serve and we can skip the participation. It's God's opinion that we can trust and his treatment that sets the standard.
I am a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science. From an early age I wanted to help others find spiritual healing for the problems they faced. After graduating from Stanford University and working with my dad in the family farming business for five years, I decided my heart was elsewhere. I left the business and went into the full time practice of Christian Science Mind-healing. For over 22 years I have been healing people of pain, suffering and disease through my prayers. I have written dozens of articles on spiritual healing that have been published in magazines and on the Internet. I teach a two week class annually on how to heal through Christian Science, and have a wonderful wife and two teenage children. I hope you stick around and enjoy this blog.
