What does it take to get a hug?

In this frequently harsh world where people’s generous motives are often suspect and desires to help shunned, you may find this video, “Free hugs campaign” on YouTube bring out a chuckle or tear to your eye as it did for me.

I think the thought behind the idea of a hug, gee I am so glad to see you, brings comfort of known persons. The idea creates happiness, but my previous publlic service background, thinks we need to exercise caution, as I have known, some bad actors, that used this as another excuse. I was a bit concerned when I saw a very young person, run to this man.

Our spiritual thoughts need to support the concept, but caution, must be noted.

How sad it would be, and the world would be, if we missed out on a genuine, selfless expression of Love, by caution!

I think I would be concerned if the man were lurking in an alley, but in a public space -- with a cameraman standing by and crowds bustling past -- I wouldn't get too worried.

Something about it brought to mind Letterman's "Guy in a Bear Suit" thing. I remember one night, the question was, "Can a guy in a bear suit get a hug from a stranger?"

It took him a while, but he finally managed to do it.
